Privacy policy

This website is intentionally lean. It sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking services and loads no content from third-party servers.

2. Overview: what data is collected

This website processes personal data in exactly two cases:

• When you visit the site, the server automatically logs technical access data. This is technically necessary and cannot be avoided.
• When you use the contact form or the email address, the data you choose to provide is processed in order to answer your inquiry.

No other processing takes place. There is no audience measurement, no advertising network, no social media plugin, and no embedded external fonts, map services or video platforms.

3. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Straße 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. When you open a page, the server automatically records information that your browser transmits:

• IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of access
• name and URL of the file requested
• amount of data transferred and whether the request was successful
• browser type and version
• operating system of the device
• the previously visited page, if your browser sends it (referrer)

Purpose: This data is needed to deliver the website, keep it stable and secure, and trace attacks.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is the technically sound and secure operation of this website.

Retention: The host stores the log files automatically and deletes them after a short period. I do not combine this data with other data sources or analyze it for statistical purposes.

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS.

4. Encrypted transmission (SSL/TLS)

This website uses TLS encryption, so third parties cannot read the data you send. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address bar of your browser, which starts with https://, and by the padlock icon.

5. Contact form

If you send me a message through the contact form, I process the following information:

• the topic you select
• your name
• your email address
• your message
• date and time the message was sent

This information is sent to my mailbox by email, through the IONOS mail server. It is not stored in a database on the server.

Purpose: To handle and answer your inquiry and to connect any follow-up questions to it.

Legal basis: Your consent under Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, which you give explicitly in the form. If your inquiry relates to a contract or to steps taken before entering into one, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR also applies.

Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time. A short email is enough. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.

Retention: I delete your inquiry once it has been fully dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply. You can request deletion at any time.

Protection against automated submissions

The form contains an additional field that is invisible to you, and it checks how long it took to fill in. This is used to reject submissions from automated programs. No additional personal data is collected in the process and no third-party services are involved. A captcha service is deliberately not used.

6. Contact by email

If you contact me directly by email, I process your email address and the content you send solely to deal with your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contract-related inquiries.

7. Fonts

This website uses the Satoshi and JetBrains Mono typefaces. The font files are stored on this website's server and loaded from there. No connection to Google Fonts or any other external provider is made, and your IP address is not passed on to any third party.

8. Cookies

This website sets no cookies. No information is stored on or read from your device beyond what is strictly necessary to deliver the page. A consent banner is therefore not required.

9. Analytics and tracking tools

No analytics, tracking or audience measurement services are used. In particular, this site does not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Matomo, Hotjar, Contentsquare or any comparable tool.

10. Links to social networks

This website links to my profiles on LinkedIn and Xing. These are plain links, not embedded plugins or buttons from the providers. No data is sent to LinkedIn or Xing unless you actively click the link. From then on, the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

11. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Access to information on whether and what data I process about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
• Rectification of incorrect or incomplete data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• Erasure of your data, unless retention obligations apply (Art. 17 GDPR)
• Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• Data portability in a structured, commonly used format (Art. 20 GDPR)
• Objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR)
• Withdrawal of consent with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR)
